What design services does Cohort actually offer?

A broad spectrum of services that can build, expand and maintain a brand throughout it's lifespan. Starting with business naming and messaging workshops, brand positioning and growth strategy, to brand identity and logo design, graphic design, web design, and product design. Cohort can also assist with production management of physical goods, brand environment construction in platforms like Canva to empower your internal marketing teams.

What industries does Cohort serve?

While Cohort doesn't work exclusively with certain industries, we are always interested in working with companies in the sports, defense, preparedness, and outdoor adventure industries. These are operational brands with products that we are the target audience for so we bring a depth of knowledge and experience to work in those industries.

Does Cohort use AI for projects?

Yes, in a limited capacity. Claude and Claude Code is incorporated into our workflow to analyze data, automate admin tasks, troubleshoot code, brainstorm copy, and a few other supporting functions. AI is not used to design or write final products or deliverables, and visual generative AI is never used. For clients who use AI in their own workflows we can also provide context MD files to train their agent on consistent brand tone and voice, and other guidelines to help streamline those interactions.

Who do you typically work with?

Cohort works to serve ambitious brands that align with our values and interests, and prioritize substance and long-term value over quick, transactional design deliverables. Our points of contact tend to be founders, marketing leads, or product teams who are ready to invest in design as a core business function.

How do I start working with Cohort?

The best first step is to reach out through our contact form or schedule a discovery call. We'll schedule an initial conversation to understand your current situation, your goals, and whether an operational design partnership is the right fit.

What is a design system, and why does it matter?

A design system is a structured set of visual standards, components, and guidelines that ensure your brand looks and functions consistently across every touchpoint, from your website to your product packaging to your marketing materials. We build design systems as the foundation of every engagement because consistency is what turns good-looking design into a business asset. It also gives you confidence that no matter who designs for you in the future, they will have everything they need to create consistently within your brand's standards.

Do you take on one-off projects?

It depends on the scope of the project. Cohort doesn't take on work where there is not enough available time or budget to execute deliverables at the highest level. And since that requires gaining a lot of insight into your business, industry, and market, a project has tobe big enough to include that level of discussion, research, and workshopping.

What does day-to-day communication and project management look like?

Partner clients get direct access to the Cohort team through a dedicated client portal powered by Bloom.io. This gives you a centralized place to communicate, review assets, track project progress, and manage deliverables — without anything getting buried in your inbox. It's a purpose-built interface for ongoing design partnerships, not a thread of emails you have to dig through six months later.
